Fire Dogs
1967
The Firedogs are handmade in cast iron and bronze, two materials that gain a beautiful patina once used and blackened by fire. These pieces were first conceived for Francois Installé’s private living room during his entire home planning by Jules Wabbes in Braschaat, Belgium between 1966 and 1967. This model evokes giant bones, like the ones of a dinosaur or a mythical creature. Its shape intends to hold logs above the hearth to amplify the circulation of air and increase the fire strength. General Decoration has manufactured these elements since 1969.
